To the best of my knowledge, we are the only 100% bilingual computer repair company in the area. The idea for our company came from the horror stories we heard from our friends about how the big companies took advantage of their limited English and they were left with $200 repair bills. While the website for Gaceta is a welcome edition to the News-Press, the lack of a tangible version is damaging to me in two ways: First, and most obviously, it limits the how I reach my customers. But more importantly, it limits how many customers are aware that there is a computer repair service in their first language. Although English is important (and spoken by a VAST majority of my Latino customers as a second language), everyone prefers to do business in their first language. And of course this isn't limited to computer repair, it is applicable in any sort of service. The News-Press is losing a lot of ad revenue by ignoring such a large demographic. It is more than understandable that online news is vastly less expensive when compared to conventional print news. However, there is, and always will be, a sizable percentage of readers, in any language, who want a paper delivered. Gaceta was a large publication, my suggestion would be to shrink its size to a few pages and release it as it was before (in stand-alone newspaper boxes) and also in the regular News-Press as a insert. Gaceta Tropical will continue online, and has been suspended, not terminated. That means that Gaceta Tropical will return, what we don't know is when and how long it will be.
